Pick up Coil
I tested my pickup coil with a Digital VOlt Meter. In one test per the factory manual, the resistance is supose to infinite and the 2nd test it is supose to be 500-1500 Ohms. I came up with 600K Ohm and 800 Ohms. So my inital thought is that the pickup coil need replacing. I am just wonder if anyone has test a good pickup coil and found 600K ohms is close enough to infinite.

No, 600k is nowhere near "infinity". Infinity in ohms is almost the same as an open circuit; mucho/max resistance. On my DVOM, infinity reads like "0.F" with the megaohm symbol in the right corner. This means that the meter cannot read what it's connected to; in other words, max. resistance in the order of several tens or hundreds of megaohms. 600K is only .6 megaohms.
Reading a short or minimum resistance shows up as "000.0" with the ohms symbol in the right corner.
