Default Activate fuel pump?

Hi guys,

When I put the 12 volts on the terminal G with my tester light for activate my fuel pump absolutely nothing happens, apart the light of my tester came on.

Questions: Is this a clue that can help me to resolve my problem that I have since 1 month?

The car idle is very very bad with black smoke a the exhaust.
I hear the fuel pump when I put the key to on,but why I can't activate the fuel pump by the terminal G ??

Thank you guys!

hm.

That is interesting.

Black smoke indicates to me too MUCH fuel... the fuel pressure regulator has gone on perminant vacation... or injector(s) are bad...

O2 sensors telling the computer to add fuel... a bad Mass Air Flow... bad Throttle Position Sensor.

Gee... so many things.

Try jumping with a wire. Your rest lamp may be eating up enough amperage to keep the pump from running.

Since it is running so rich, I am missing the point of the fuel pump test. It sounds like your observation of the tail pipe has revealed the results.

Surprise tonight when I start the car: code 42.

I start the car ,put it in reverse for raise the rear end of the car( I want to remove the cat for see if it is obstruct),but it was IMPOSSIBLE.
the engine stall, stall, and stall with a black smoke smell i don't know why.

I decide to not remove the cat because i am not able to go under the car.

I focus on my code 42. The engine run in this condition since 1 month.
(I'm not able to move the car because it stalls always) spider web on the car.

I don't know what is the f... problem with this car!!!

it' s the first time tonight the service engine soon light came on since the car have this problem! I check in my book for the code 42 and it's could be the ignition module.

I remove it tonight and go to buy a new one tomorrow.

Do you think guys is the problem??

what I do on the car since the car have this problem( 1 month)

-remove injectors and send them to rich cruzin for a cleaning (new screen and new o-ring) he idi the cold start valve to.

-plug,wire,cap,rotor (new)

-I tried a another coil(a use one)......same problem

-fuel filter new

-remove throttle body: cleaning iac

-tcheck voltage tps( 0.56)

-remove egr valve and cleaning

-tchecking the solenoid egr valve,it work well.

-fuel pressure is ok(39-40 lbs)

-fpr don't leak

-I took my MAF and put it on my friend's camaro(305 tuned port) and the camaro runs very good

-compression is good

Someone have an idea if I go to ride my vette this summer?

Proof that the 12 volts to terminal "G", test is unnecessary. Besides other possible problems, the car is running PIG rich. Chances are good that there is nothing wrong with the ignition. Another condition may have triggered the code 42. Follow the trouble shooting steps in your manual, first for a code 42, and then if not solved, for a rich (black smoke) condition. Your cat very well may be plugged, but if so, it is the result of the rich mixture, NOT the cause.
