As you know I'm trying to sort out my power,or lack of, with my new blower.
Tomorrow I'm taking it to the dyno.
My question is should I pay or the place that installed it?
A dyno was never mentioned by the shop or the shop that recommended the one I went to.
On the other hand, the car wasn't right when I got it.
We met half way between my house and the shop which was about 100 mi for each of us.
The shop owner had his wife following him so he said he never got on it.
ATI didn't have anyone to recommend in my area.
A little discussion is going on in the happy houeshold if you know what I mean.
Thanks
Herb
My personal opinion is this : I think you should pay for the dyno, initially. If it is then found that it's a faulty installation, then go after the shop that installed the blower. I bought my L98 last May and, like you, it never ran right.... was getting 15 mpg at BEST... so, before my nitrous installation, I had it checked over completely by the same shop to install the juice. Turned out that it was REALLY rich due to a rock solid EGR...changed that and it was perfect..... 23 mpg thereafter. The car was then sent next door to their performance division and the nitrous was installed, and dyno'd.........
SO...... have the car checked THOROUGHLY by someone reputable... anyone can install a blower....not everyone can trouble shoot a car and make it work properly........
IMHO, you should pay for the tuning on your blown car. I don't think it's the shops fault. It's absolutely necessary to tune each car individually that gets this kind of kit installed.
Installing the kit is pretty dummy proof if everything is working from ATI and all the nuts and bolts are tightened properly.
Uhmm IMO the shop should have Dyno'd tuned your car in the first place, of course an extra charge for Dyno time and computer edit, but it should have been done right in the first place, before they gave you the car back....

Shop should have figured that in. I would have thought I was paying "turn key", meaning just jump in and go. Not jump in and you have to work the bugs out. Too bad you are 6 hrs from Houston as we have many reputable shops here to take care of your issues.
