Reading the first post is what got me thinking I should do this for myself. A trip to the pawn shop yeilded an old IBM thinkpad with win95 on it...oughta be good enough for $40.00. FTP search of the web turned up the WinALDL software. Loaded it on the thinkpad...seems to be working. Just found a cable w/software on ebay. I'm thinking I can be into this for under the $350.00+shipping folks want to charge for a chip and I'm starting from scratch. I know a guy with a UV eraser so the last piece should be the chip burner for around $130.00 or so plus shipping. A trip to RadioShack tomorrow should prove to be a learning experience as well.
Reading posts is a great start. Actual interaction with folks is even better.
