Default Computer Edit, 42lb Injectors Timing

Just curious what kind of HP/TQ increase i can expect with the LT1 edit/42Lb injectors and getting the timing fixed.... 5-10 10-15 15-20? Whats a reasonable expectation assuming the car is poorly tuned...

If your engine is stock there is no need to use 42lb injectors. GM does not leave much left on the table in the ways of gains from the stock programming. There is a little to be had by leaning out the PE tables because they are inherently rich in that area. But as for adding a lot of timing it may be more of a detrement to the programming as the timing tables are pretty hot as they are. That is why they installed two knock sensors in the engine. Typically you will find about 35 degrees of total timing in the maps.

Jerkyboy,
Aren't you talking about fuel pressure not fuel injectors?

You were obviously running extremely fat. What was your final number after picking up 50HP?

LT!,

I personally would settle for 36 pounders for the sake of idle... The main key is that you can up the fuel pressure as you increase boost. 42's are the magic number but i have also heardthat the owners have a bit of truble getting the idle right.

I'd venture to say "maybe" 15-20" hp gain you may get from the injectors. This is mainly because you are no running your injectors to 100 % to feed the fiery beast. But as you may well know there are a ton of variables as to rpm's etc etc where you would gain the extra horses. The best think going is your intercooler.

I'm running LT1 edit as well a supplemental fuel pumper so I along with timing changes made the most changest in the MAF and the PE tables as the others have mentioned.

if you need more input feel free to email me...

Yes, I was talking FP --- sorry. Numbers stand at 375rwhp/350tq. I have got a nasty kink in my exhaust and still running a little rich. Hoping to pick up 20hp more.
