Finally, I got my 408 SR DFI engine back from being tuned and WOW!! this thing's quick!! Gonna go to the dyno next week and see what the numbers are..I'll post 'em soon!!
The valve covers weren't easy.. ..The first time around with my 355 I had the tall versions and they did fit except I had to trim the plastic cover on the wiper motor and remove the bushings between the wiper motor and the firewall and I had to machine down one of the bolts on the smog pump. With the new motor though, the Dart Pro1's have the valve cover rail raised .250 so as luck would have it GM now has a short version (which also has the pcv/breather holes and baffles in them already) so I bought them..painted wrinkle black and machine brushed the raised letters...I thought the wiper motor with the plastic cover intact would clear but I still had to stick with the trimmed one.
