Did I word that poorly (again)? What that top quote is supposed to mean, is that no EGR or lack of EGR operation, will cause high NOX (NO?) readings. EGR operation reduces NOX emissions.

The results of the test with all gases is in GPM. Standard/Results: .80/1.36 HC, 15/4.30 CO, 2.5, .45 NOx.

OK. Grams Per Mile. The GPM measurements are a later standard than *I* have experienced. NOW your numbers make sense to me. As stated, HCs are unburned fuel. My previously mentioned EGR problem could apply, here. You probably have a minor misfire. Proceed as recommended for HC problems.

RACE ON!!!

A fresh set of spark plugs may get you through the test, a coil, cap and module wouldn't harm either. Even if it is not these, they are sort of consumables, and not to expensive, I would start there.

I had the same issue.
Was this car not drivern often?

If the plugs and wires and etc looks good, put a bottle of HEET in it and go back. It will drop your HC number drastically. Just make sure you drive it for at least 10 minutes after putting it in.

Finally caved in a took it in to a local dealer for a diagnostics test of emissions. They said O2 sensors went bad causing cat converters to go. Havent had time to change them yet and get it tested. Sensors are only 20 a piece and found the converters for $63. Tried getting them off but broke two bolts where it attaches to the exhaust manifold. Cant quite get to the third one, still have to figure something out.
