In the past week, I have changed the pads, changed the master cylinder, and I still have no breaks. I don't get the whistle from under the dash for a bad power break booster.
What I do have is a good feel to the pedal, but I have to push with both feet to get the car to stop. And then it is a very slow stop. And, when it does stop, it feels like the car shudders.
I am now totally lost as what to do. If I can't figure something out soon, it is going to have to go to a shop. What has me frustrated, is I have been doing my own break work for 30+ years and never encountered anything like this before.
I have a 95, 6 speed with FE1 suspension. I am trying to determine the size of the front rotors. They appear to be larger than rears = 12", but I can't tell and have not had the time to measure. Are all FE1 (stock susupension) front otors with 12" or the 13" rotors ?
I had the same problem. Changing the brake fluid cured it. This has to be done with a pressure bleeder at 15 to 25 psi if you want to avoid problems. And the prime pipe/proportioning valve has to be bled first (located in the compartment behing the driver's seat).
