I also have a hard start problem, but only when I try to start up the car when the engine is hot, "after I went for a drive and let it sit for longer then 10 - 15 minutes"

Is this the problem your having with yours?

I also though that maybe one or more of my injectors are leaking

I'm not sure about 88. Do they have a cold start injector? Did you check fuel pressure and what is the quality of the spark? Also, how clean is the IAC and TB area?

They look like a matched set after serviceing.

Did you also send in the cold start injector for service?

I had that problem up until a week ago. Decided to replace ECM with one I pulled from a salvage yard..
So far...5 days later... no problems.

That was my solution for my hot engine problem.

If you didn't have the cold start injector (cold start valve - CSV) cleaned and tested you should. The pre-cleaning resuts aren't too bad, so I'd suggest checking the Cold Start Switch as well. The Cold Start Switch on the 85-88 L98 is a bi-metal thermo time switch similar in concept to the thermostat. It opens the CSV for a limited time based upon the temperature of the engine coolant. The switch is not supposed to operate the CSV above 95 degrees F. It is located on the front of the engine under the throttle body and has a purple and a tan wire running directly to the CSV. It can be tested with a simple ohmmeter.

If the resistance between the tan wire terminal (#832) of the switch and ground is greater than 200 ohms the switch is bad. If it is between 20 and 200 ohms with the coolant temp less than 95F the switch is bad. If it is less tha n 20 ohms it is probably ok and the CSV may be bad or leaking. See Chart A-9 Section 6E3-A-23 in the Factory Service manual for the complete test of the switch and the injector combined.

How much did that run you? What's involved in repacing it?

Well the problem with the Hard Starting has been every since I have had the vette. Sometimes when your first start it, it cranks right up but really 90% of the time it doesn't matter whether it is hot nor cold. I have replaced the IAC and yes I did service the Cold Start injector and Rich at cruzinperformance.com said that it leak slighty at the preliminary test but was fixed after servicing. To let you know what I have done and replaced, Mass Air Flow Sensor, ECM, IAC, Cleaned TB, and replaced the Mass Air relays and Two MOTORS (replacements from NAPA Auto - bored 60000ths). I also sent the car to the Chev. place so they could put it on the computer and they could not communicate with the computer and that is why I replaced the ECM but no difference at ALL. I have check most grounds and everything looks to be ok. Check the fuel pressure a while back but can't recall so it must have been ok. One thing I haven't done is replace the Dist. cap, coil, or wires. As far I know they are 16 yrs old. That is going to be my next project after the injectors are put back in.
