burn off module? whats this

Burn off relates to cleaning the MAF wire. When you turn off the engine, the ECM will activate a relay to burn any foreign matter off the MAF wire. Never heard of a "burn off module". Just a burn off relay. Maybe the 85 does it differently?

with previous poster!The MAF has two relays ( they are identical) one powers the MAF and the other does what he said after you shut off the engine! The relays are cheap and easily replaceable!
But why do you think you have a "burn off problem"?

I said in the other thread that it can be either one, the 85 DOES NOT have 2 relays like other years folks.
The Burnoff module is hidden behind the pass. side dash in 85, and in 85 ONLY. Thats why its so expensive.
Youll have to check the MAF itself, before you do anything.
