Default headlight motor

Hi, i own a 85 vette and my right front headlight just stopped working cannot get it to popup i assume it is the motor i was wondering if the whole motor has to be replace and how much do they go for or if there is a gear inside or a belt that has to be replaced . this is the first time i have had this happened thanks in advance.

I have a 85 also my L headlight will not close intermittantly but when I turn the manual screw [underneath] it will pop closed. try turning this.
If you never rebuilt a electric motor before you will have to send it
out to be rebuilt which is cheaper than new.$150 each versus $600-$800.
try mamotorworks.com or corvettecentral.com
Good luck

There also is a relay that could be the problem, but, with my experience the motor is probably your problem. Get the rebuilt unit.
Some catalogues make you send yours to be rebuilt while others will send you one, and wait for you to send the old one back.
Shop around through all the on line Corvette magazines.

I have an 86 (same motor) and ended up sending mine to Corvette Central for repair. Just over $100.

I couldn't find anyone locally that repairs them. Chevy Parts told me they are no longer available from GM.

I ordered replacement brushes for my '92 from Electric Tool Repair Shop, 1200 Goss Ave. 40217, Louisville, KY.

You can call them at 502-635-6888. I'm pretty sure they can ship them to you via UPS. They were Bosch items. Sorry, I don't have the plastic bag they came in right now for the exact parts number.
