Default Longest plug wire for L98

This may really be a shot in the dark here: so does anyone know what the longest spark plug wire from dist. goes to what number cylinder? I think it's No.1. I am in the middle of replacing my wires, and measure the new ones, I got Number 1 in good shape, but in the box of new wires, there is even a longer wire I think I got No.2 as the second longest(or same as No. 1) I did mark my wires, but I was wondering if there are any more long wires left Thanks in advance.

I just replaced my wires as well. I used the AC/Delco wires that Corvette Central sells as OEM wires. I could not see a significant difference in length between the front driver and passenger side wires (#1 & 2 I believe). I did notice that the #6 wire in both the OEM wire set and the set I was replacing had a straight plug boot and the rest were 90 degree angle boots. Is that what you found?

My car ran significantly better after replacing the plugs and wires.

I'm using Taylor 8mm. I'm not hot rodding it, I just like the fact that the wires are red. The wires I took off were GM orig. and the son of a guns had numbers printed on them to match up with the dist. The Taylors seem to have 90 deg. boots, except one or two that are 60 degree, I think for the middle cyl. What baffled me was that after I thought I had the longest wire done, there was a longer wire in the box. I'm thinking that it should be the No. 1 wire and I may go back to replace it.

For some reason I think it is #2 or #3. One of them comes from the opposite side spiraling all the way around the Dist. cap.

The "made to fit" kits have 1=2, 3=4, 5=6 etc... they dont account for wrapping around the dizzy.

If you want proper fitment, order the universal set and cut/crimp yourself. That's hot I got mine to the proper length.

Also, you might want to route the #2 wire differently than I did. It's a real tight fit by the plenum... so my first idea was to cut away a small part of the boot. But.. then it started arcing against the plenum, So I got a new boot and just jammed it in there. It'd be better to go out the drivers side and come back underneath the plenum or behind the distributor

I think they came off a '59 Corvette. I got em cheap because they already had pcv holes drilled through em. That pic was just a test fit.. I have some fabricating to do with the pcv to get em on. But they bolt right up. Good ol Gen-1 SBC.
