Try this link. It has some good pictures and discriptions of how to get in and out of a steering column.

Here's the easy way.

There's only one screw that holds it in the column. But it's behind the lock plate. The screw just barely doesn't go through one of the holes in that lock plate. It's close. Take the steering wheel off. The lock plate is that thick steel piece with all the holes around it that allow the lock pin to go through those holes thereby locking the wheel from turning. Line up the hole over the screw and mark which hole is closest. Move the hole to a deep section behind the plate so when you drill out that hole bigger you don't ruin anything from the drfill going through the hole.

Once the hole is enlarged, move it to over the screw again and take out the screw. The cruise stalk comes right out with a little wiggling.

Here's a tip. Before you pull the wire through the column tie a piece of safety wire or magnet wire to the end of the loom to the stalk and pull it through when you remove the cruise control. When you put the new one in, just tie the plug of the new unit to the safety wire and pull it through the column. Otherwise it's a real pain to get the stalk wires back through to come out the bottom of the column.

Thanks for the help. I was concernrd that the cruise control plug would not go through the columb or make the bend when you get to the control mount.

It won't get hung up inside?
