Went to start the car the other day,no start, fuel pump dead, ran a wire from batt to g terminal in the ADL( bypassing relay) no prss.
took the pump out, and bought another one, installed ran OK went to the store would no start, after a while heard the pump run and started drove home, pulled that one out and took it back to store, got another one did the same thing, it died while idling and will no start up for a while then all of a sudden you have prss. again.
I kept thinking may be this pump are junk, so once again I took the pump out and returned it to the store, and ordered a carter, while waiting for it to arrive went home took the old one out the trash can tested it ran good, installed and so far it's working good what gives?
any suggestions?
Sounds like your problem might be a short, loss wire or something else electrical. I could see getting one new pump that was faulty; but not two. This combined with your last statement about the old one now working fine, tells me it's not the pump. Some else might be able to pin it down better ...

I got a pump from Racetronix and they include new wiring, relays and the pump, it was a little over $100 the only wiring that they use out of the stock system is the wiring for the fuel gauge. If you are having trouble finding the wiring demons that may be a solution. But you do have to run a wire from your altenator to the back of the car to power the pump. I ran mine under the car and zip tied it the whole way. They do that so you have a more constant voltage, therefore the ability to pump more fuel. But I am very happy with there product, just another option.
It ain't the ground. I had the same exact problem. I really used my Allstate Towing card a lot of a month or so until I saw the melted plug that 65Z01 was talking about. How that little plug handles any current at all is beyond me. I soldered the FP wires right to the male end of that little plug.
I thought about just bypassing that entire connection and running new wires except the tank has to be air tight for the emissions system to work properly. And I just couldn't think of a way that for sure would keep the tank sealed if I drilled a new hole and ran new wires.
