Temp Rollercoaster
I was driving home from a cruise tonight and got some funny temp readings. I idled out of the display area in town for about two blocks and my temp stayed at 196. I pulled out on to the Interstate with moderate acceleration and the temp spiked quickly to 208 and stayed there until I left the highway. I checked my radiator entrance that has wire cage protection and found it unobstructed. I got back in the car and the temp had dropped in a matter of 90 seconds to 198. I drove again through traffic with a normal temp and it stayed that way until I again hit 70. It creeped right up to 208 and stayed. Any ideas as to causation? By the way I have a new Mezaire water pump. Have been running it about 9 hours since new. No problems till tonight.

Your temps are nothing to be alarmed at and are probably better than average for an LT1. Remember, the electric pump runs at a constant speed so things are going to act a little different than before.
