My problem is just like the earlier post about the coolant light. My light check gauges and low coolant light comes on, then I put coolant in and in the recovery tank. got on the road, and the temp didn't go down. the low coolant light isnt lit, but the check gauges is on. the temp was at 255 at one point. There is coolant coming from the top of the recovery tank, kinda flowing out. Can anyone help, does it sound like the hoses also. I have a 96 with 54,000.
These are some things I would check and/or replace:
1- check and see if the electric fans are coming on.
2-replace the thermostat
3-check the radiator and see if it is clogged from debris on the
outside ( I bought a '96 coupe in '03 and it was running hot
because the previous owner had not kept the front of the
radiator clean)
4-check for leaking hoses or collapsed hoses
Check these items in what ever order works for you. Let me know what you find.

The only thing I would add is to check to see it there is air in the system. Run the engine, with the cap off and let the engine heat up, then keep adding water/mixture at the radiator cap.
