Who makes 5.8" rods? I never ran across these while researching my build.

Several companies like Oliver, Manley, Eagle, etc make a 5.85 rod. Lingenfelter liked to use this rod in some of his stroker motors Chevy also made a 5.94 powdered metal rod in the small L-99 V-8. I am also looking at this question of length. I just bought the GM stroker 3.8 crankshaft and consirdering using the GM special 5.7 rods that they put with this crank in the ZZ383. Anyone have experience with these parts??

Thanks Ike

Yes, I ran across the Chevy 5.94 rods but couldn't really find any suitable pistons for them for what I needed. The 5.85 rod sounds like a good length for a non-stroked, all purpose 350, which is what I built. Who has flat-tops for those?

Go with the the longest rod, It will make the most mid range torque. although it might make the engine more octane sensitive due to the longer piston dwell.
