C4 brake caliper fitment issues
I own an early C4.
I know I could upgrade to C5 brakes, with
a bracket, and of course, 17 wheels.
That said, I want to know what options I have for fitment of what I call 'generic sports car' brakes,
which usually means Wilwood.
Why don't we get cool stuff like the Porsche guys get?
I looked at the steering knuckle on my car, it would
seem that the big problem is that the general
despises his customers, so he put the 'brake
mounting ears' so close to the rotor that only
'floating' calipers will fit.
(if that fact is incorrect, please enlighten me)
I know I could try to do these measurements
myself, but someone has got to have done this before.
Please, does anyone know the axial offset between the
outboard face of the mounting ears, and the
hub mounting plane.
