I had to remove the air injection system from my 92 to get the valve covers off. Will it throw a code if I do not put it back? It sure is ugly and in the way.

Most likley yes it will. I removed the AIR system and the EGR stuff at the same time. I had to get custom tuning to get these systems out. I was throwing a code before that.
This also effect emissions depending on what state you live in. It was not a problem for me so the stuff is gone. I am much happier without the stuff in there cause I can change spark plugs much faster and there is more room to work!
Your gonna need some block off plates in the rear of the intake manifold and some plugs for the exhaust manifold. The M-22 Oil drain plug is the only thing I have found that will fit. It is not a standard size.
