Default rear antenna problem

I had a feeling changing the antenna was going to be a pain, but I never thought of the privacy screen being hard to remvove. Chiltons just says remove privacy screen -- mine does not want to come off the holding brackets. Is there some technique or special tool necessary for this?

Thanks Mike

I just removed one. You'll need to remove the package tray and the side extension pieces to get to the ends of the screen. Maybe even the other plastic pieces behind the first set of side trim. You'll have to pry on one end of the screen assembly in order for the assembly to compress and slide off the metal bracket that has a hole in it. I don't remember which end compresses but you'll see. I used a screwdriver between the end of the screen and the metal bracket. It then pulled it forward toward the front of the car and off the bracket. Have you figured out how to get the antenna assembly out of the car? One method is to remove the inner fender another is to remove the tailights. Tailights might be easier to get to the antenna and the grommet but the tailights are a pain to remove if you have thick arms like I do. Reaching behind the license plate opening to remove the screws from the first light isn't too bad, it's reaching through the inboard light opening to reach the outboard light that is always tight for me. Good luck.
