Default Need help with TH 700 R4

Hello,

I bought a TH 700 R4 from Trans-R-Us (www.trans-r-us.com).
My mechanic fit it in but it does not shift into the second gear.
Dave from Trans-R-Us told me to free the governor, but it was free.

I tried to reach Dave via e-mail a couple of time but I get no answer from Trans-R-Us.

After I did not get any answer from Trans-R-Us I brought my Vette to a GM garage.
They put down the oil pan after discharging the oil. There was a black lubrication film and metallic splinters on the ground of the oil pan (after driven 500 meters!!!). The GM-mechanic told me that the transmission seems to be damaged.

Does anybody know Trans-R-Us? Maybe they are on vacation and that?s the reason for not answering my mails?
Could someboby help me?

Hopefully greetings from Germany.

Markus

The trans doesn't sound good.....and I'm not familiar with that compnay as to their reliability or warranty reputation. However according to their website they are in Florida-they've been hit with two hurricanes with another one on the way. I just talked to another company located in Deland-they are one of the few to have a working phone and they're on generator power right now. So if anyone calls to most of Fl. it'll just ring and ring......so don't give up on them yet.

Sorry,

I saw those horrible pictures at German news.
I think they have enough problems at the moment!

I' ll try to reach them a few weeks later.

Thank you for the fast answer.
