Default EGR pipe question

Just spent the last couple of weeks ( I`m not the worlds best mechanic ), putting new injectors, & valve seals in my `87. I got it all back together ( I think), but I have an exhaust leak where the egr pipe connects to the intake manifold. I don`t remember taking a gasket out of there, & I can`t find one laying around. My question is, is there a gasket that goes in there, or is it metal to metal contact.

Thanks
Ken

There should be a metallic gasket in there. You may not remember one because they normally stick to one part or the other during disassembly.

You should be able to get a gasket at Auto Zone or your local Chevy dealer.

Go right to chevy. The last time I went to AZ (with EGR tube in hand to show them) they looked at me like I had 3 heads looking for anything other than the egr valve gasket.
