I know the opti is probably gone but I just need to run this by everyone and make sure. My car will not start at all now and sounds like it's "sneezing" when I try to start it. I hooked up a timing light and Cylinders 1 and 4 aren't getting any spark. Should the car start with only 6 cylinders (not that I want it to)? I would think it would start and just not run real well.
Anyway, when you try and start it, it cranks and cranks and then "sneezes" out of the IAC hole in the front of the TB (BBK 58mm TB). I was trying to fix a few things 1) O2 sensor is bad so I am replacing both of them 2) Intake leak - got that fixed and put back together and now the car won't start. 3) Probably going to have to replace the Opti now or upgrade to the Delteq or LTCC (don't really have the money for this upgrade now but think it might be the best in the long run).
It wasn't running right when I took the intake off but at least it was running. I've gone over my connections 3 times, unplugging everything and taking everything apart looking for wiring that is unplugged and can't find anything. I guess it's possible that I pinched or broke a wire.
After going through the troubleshooting section in the service manual all signs point to the opti-spark. Looks like I have to mess with this thing now.
on my L98, when you mess with the intake/TB area, you could screw up the adjustment on the TPS, which causes the car to run terribly... I'm not sure if the LT1/4 have those at all, just a suggestiion...
