engine rattling
I have a red 94 lt1 that just recently I heard a rattling, ticking noise coming from the passenger side of my engine. The car drives fine, doesn't burn oil. I just recently had my tranny built so I took it back to the shop and the mechanic told me it is normal noise. But still i wonder because I didnt hear it before. It isnt the injectors because I checked them and the oil level is fine. It rattles at idle and when I accelerate, but it isnt that loud, just different. I know sound can resonate, so I wonder if there is a loose bolt or metal rubbing? Am I making too big of a deal or should I be concerned.

you don't mention if this is an automatic or 6spd.
However, I would check the exhaust system. considering it had to be dropped for the tranny to come out, a shield could have been damaged along the way.

also check bolts etc. after install
