Header gaskets & bolts question
I just got some Hooker comp shorties, so I'm curious whats the recommended gaskets to use, and what header bolts should I use. Could y'all please leave a link to where I can order these at a good price. Thanks.

I bought 3/4" header bolts, should have bought 1". Time for another JEGs order. At least they have all my CC info

3/4" bolts will work.
Good luck getting those Hooker shorties installed. they are hard to get lined up. But, it can be done, just be patient.

Just something for you to consider, somebody mentioned this right after I installed mine, hope I'm in time for you.
Anyway, get hex cap bolts for the headers and it should be much easier to tighten the little suckers than traditional header bolts.

red95vette, if the 1" hex head header bolts that I'm going to try to use this weekend on my headers works. I'll send you a set, no charge.

The hex head bolts I am going to try aren't "header" specific bolts. But they are a high quality bolt. I can get them cheap, so if they work on my car I can get you a set. I'll let you know Sunday how they worked.

My EM header's flanges are pretty thick and after the gaskets there's not but 3-4 threads in the aluminum heads (with the 3/4" length bolts), the 1" bolts give another 3-4 threads and make me feel better.
I like the 3/8" 12 pt bolts. I use my 1/4" drive ratchet set to torque the bolts down.

I ordered the Percy header gasket for the chevy small block, square port. My friend reminded me LT1's are d-ports, so I was wondering if these will still fit, they look like they would.

D-Port Gasket
Considering the price of Percy's header gaskets, and the difficulty installing the Hooker shorties. I would get the correct gaskets and try to do everything right the first time. You won't want to repeat the process.
