New shocks needed - recommendations?
My '95 Coupe has just a hair under 60k miles...I need new shocks badly! Wheel hop and very squirrelly handling.
I've seen Bilsteins go for about $270 a set, KYB Gas-A-Justs locally here at Advance Auto Parts for about $220 a set...what other options are there?
I'm just looking for a high-quality, inexpensive shock for daily driving duties (90% of the driving time). Would like to spend under $300 a set shipped to Columbus, OH. Thanks!

I just put KYB's on all the way around. Went with them 'cause I wanted a "performance" shock on a budget. They work well. Not great, but definitely better than what I had (one shock had actually separated 
!). Well worth the price

What suprised me was how easy the install went, both front and rear.

Well, I ended up getting the KYB Gas-A-Justs at my local Advanced Auto for $42 a shock. For the price, I SHOULD be pretty happy with any improvement over the damping (or lack thereof) from my dead stock Bilsteins.
Getting them shipped to me this week. I'll let people know how they go once I do the install! Thanks for the help!

Not harsh at all but still keep the car flat in the curves.
Summit sells them for $27.95 each.
I removed a set of Gabriel VST shocks thinking they needed replacement since my back end had started feel a little loose.
When I was replacing the shocks, I found one of the upper control arm nuts loose. I decided to check all the torque and found that I could turn the nut on the passenger side top rear nut without almost no effort. My service manual showed it was supposed to be torqued to 140#.
Since I had the new shocks I decided to change them anyway since I had no idea how long the Gabriels had been on; at least the four years that I've had the car.

Another vote for KYBs. Just installed a set that I bought from a forum member (thanks again Howdo). Compared to my 89000 Bilistens they are fantastic. I've put ~ 200 miles on them so far and they doing great so far.

They are pricey compared to the KYB but they sure feel a lot better than the Bilsteins.
