ALL, is $25,000 a good price for a highly modified 94 vette with 48,000 miles on it? It runs like new with suspension upgrades and sports a high 11 sec 1/4 mile time. It's a red on red. 383 stroker with lunatti crank and rods - srp pistons - comp cams camshaft, MTI intake - 52 twin mm tb. open air lid - 30#ib injectors, complete msd ignition w rev limiter, pro-built transmission, vigilantte 2600 convertor, richmond 3:73, hooker shorties, flowmaster catback. The list goes on and on. Engine compartment has a lot of nice show car details. Paint is great, interior is like new. Car runs great and is powerfully. The guy has spent 20K + on upgrades. The car is definetly a head turner. What's your thought, is $25,000 a good price?
All the goods are there, he has pictures of the upgrades as well as all the receipts, the engine builder who put the short block together can vouch for the parts, in the bottom end.
If you have seen the receipts and he spent 20+K on it he is trying to recoup only 50% of his aftermarket investment. I figure if the care is worth 14 to 15K stock he wants 10K more for his efforts. No one every gets back what they put in for mods and at the point this one is there will be a substantial loss for the current owner because few people will pay what it is really worth. I see no reason you can't go for 23K and dicker from there. I don't think it will be easy to sell and that is in your favor. Really sounds cool, I wanna drive it!
I am selling something similar but I can back up everything that is in my car, especially once you ride in it. It is a 86 I know older C4 but it does have the body update kit and a Toledo high rise on it.

I really do not want to sell, but my wife is forcing the sell. I am trying to get 17K for it, I have allot more in it but to be honest I don't know the total spent, it took me 3 years to build. Oh yea the car is a Lexus pearl gray.
It sounds high to me. I have seen a few vettes just like this but with a blower also for 20-22 grand and that is an additional 6 thousand in mods right there. 18-20 grand is probably more reasonable.
I had an '82, put over $25K (almost 30) into it (not counting the price of the car). Was in primium mechanical and show state (won a couple of shows and was used in a promotional poster). Sold it for just under $19K and was lucky to get that. As other's have said, you never get back what you put into it. I did it for the pure enjoyment of it (and would do it again).
Well KBB says retail is $8300 on my 86 and I am sure loan value is far less. My blower and DFI unit cost that much so I am sure I would not sell it for that.
What did he do with it after he built it???? If he had it to the track every weekend I'd pass. Why's he selling it? AND, I know what it's like to sell a mod car-you never get the $ back, in fact some want only stock. NEGOTIATE.

Not to bust your bubble, but you need to be very weary of the claims. I know perhaps its got everything in the car that he says. But case in point, a friend of mine purchased a so called mid eleven second F body from a member of the CZ28 forum not to long ago. The list and receipts was impressive to say and the guy even gives my friend link to a 1/8 mile pass video where it shows the car doing a mid 7 second pass.
He brings the car to me and lets me check it out. I added a few small items and check the prom programming being this was a 93 LT1 car. I also added a NOS plate system so I was able to see into the plenum. And I did see that the plenum was heavily ported and the porting "appeared' good. I also checked the calibration on the prom which was from Ed Wright, and it too look OK. But the real test was at the drag strip, no matter what we did the car never did any better than 13.2 and 12.6 on the spray. I have hot cammed stockers with LT4 heads doing mid 12s or better, his last car was a very mild 383 car with a hot cam that ran 12 flat and I beleive broke 11.99 at that end with final tuning.
Later during another day of 1/4 thrashing that car broke something, now the cam isn't turning and at least two valves are bent. So in your case my best advice to you is "BUYER BEWARE" Its one thing if you know the owner personally and know the car, but if this is a stranger.......well I think you know what I mean.
