I'm forced to do a transmission rebuild, and looking to probably switch stall speeds. The car has a 3000rpm stall, which I feel is a little high for me (was installed when the car had 3.73 gears).
I now have 3.45 rear end, and am thinking something more around 2200-2500 would be better suited. I am not really doing a lot of drag racing. But do autocross every time I can (I found the 3K stall made it hard to control the throttle in this type of enviroment).
I have a P.I. Vigilanti converter in it now. They are pretty pricey, but do come with a nice warranty and stall speed change if you need it. I am just wondering if there is anybody else I should perhaps be looking at.

If you've already got a Vigilante, why not just get the stall changed in it. You've already got one of the best there is. Someone who has auto-Xed w/ an automatic should have some good advice on where to set it. I would guess maybe even lower than you're thinking.

True, but I am about 90% sure the Vigilante is toasted, so getting it restalled isn't going to happen, gonna have to replace it.
