The schreader valve on the fuel rail on my '91 is leaking. The guys at Superior said this is a non servicable item, that I would need to replace the whole fuel rail. Is this true? Any idea where I can get a new one? It looks like it should just screw into the fuel rail.

You should be able to get the core at any bike shop. If it's actually leaking where it goes into the rail... well, there's a gasket made of metal & viton that you need to replace. Just head to the hardware store and find an oring that fits.
I'd just call up a Chevy dealer and see if they have the valve. I had to replace the valve in the A/C line a few months ago. I was told it was non servicable and had to buy the whole A/C line to replace it. I called up my local dealer and they had a part number for it and got it for me the next day.
If the 1/8th" NPT threads are correct for your fuel rail, Yes.
I don't know about the '91, but my parts book shows the valve assembly (similar to aklim's link) for '89 (as late as my book goes) and earlier TPIs. Chevy wanted $32.00 for it years ago. I was looking for a way to add a Schrader valve to my Crossfire, so I needed the whole assembly. I ended up with a tire valve assembly from K Mart for about $5.00. If yours is leaking, the tire store will probably GIVE you a new core.
I found a place that sell them. They are for fuel rails. Said in there description.. Ready for the good part? You have to buy 100 at a time. I will get a hold of them Monday and see how much 100 cost. For the guy that are using them out of tires stems. You have a ticking time bomb there. The one that are for the fuel rail are made out of viton and the ones out of bike tires are made out of nitrile. The one for AC stuff are made out of neopreme..

I guess I would be a little afraid of using a non-gas valve. It might be ok, but I wouldn't want to take a chance. Years ago, when I was young and green, my '86 mustang gt burned up real good due to a carb fuel leak.

Did you call NAPA? If I remember right they have them in their ECHLIN fuel and carb parts line.

Mine has been "ticking" for about 4 years, now. Initially, I was concerned, but with no intelligent input, I just decided to "go for it". No problems, yet. Good info. Where were you 4 years ago?

I believe for the grainger one I had to buy 6 and it was around 12 dollars or something like that. You just need a commercial account. That was what happened last time I bought it for my car. I then proceeded to sell the rest of the 5
Bought a replacement (it's the complete valve which just threads into the rail) at a Dealer. Otherwise, Street & Performance - www.hotrodlane.cc - probably has it along with all the other rail parts should you want to rebuilt the rail.
Go back to the dealer .>>>>Lie say I need the schrader valve for a 1997 corvette/camaro/trans am whatever ..
he will hand you the same thing you have except it will be a black fitting with a plastic cap... Thats whats on mine right now..I dont know why GM changed the Flipping part number just because they are now black instead of silver... His system if he was smart enough to use it properly would have shown the ls1 version as a replacement..
