Default '87 coup rear defog

The rear defogger isn't working. The circuit is open between the left side strut at the spade terminal that the ground wire hooks too. What is supposed to make contact between the strut and the spade? Or what's the neat fix? It all looks together but something's obviously not right.

Current (24 amps of it) passes through the strut. Usually you will find that the spade connector has been overheated and is not making connection due to high temperature oxidation where the wire crimps onto the spade connector, or the spade, due to overheating, has no spring tension and isn't making connection to the lug it slides onto. Replace the spade connector.
