I have added a superchager to my 92 ls1. I only runnning about 6lbs of boost. I reprogrammed the Eprom to run on a daily driving. I've changed the timing and eff. mixture, BUT now need to change MAP sensor from 1 bar to 2 bar. I using Datamaster to scan and CATS tuner to program the Eprom. I need to know all that I need to change to make sure I don't miss something. If someone could point me were to start or have a bin file that would show me a basic 2 bar change, so I could start from there. I know it would be better or wiser to have it done, but I don't learn anything that way, and I would rather learn so I could do it again than pay to never learn. So any help that some one could give would be GREATLY needed and helpful!
Did you transplant an LS1 into your 92 our is it a LT1? I can't tell you exactly what to do, but you will cut your MAP resolution in half. There are people who have done it, try a search as well. Do you have other plans as well? Like trying to do all enrichment with the ECM only!! Please give all your specifics.
I changed the injector to 42lbs and changed the ve table. By the scans on my o2 readings it seem to be fine (they seems to stay in range). The problem seems to be when I first get on it and the boost kicks in the map goes out off range then it knocks. The map is not detecting the boost and doesn't know what to do at that point (it goes out of range). I need to change sensors so that it will detect the boost and know what to do with it.
use the ve table at the 100 map locations and increase the fuel based on rpm. If the table gets maxed out to 99% and you dont have enough fuel yet then go to the PE% change to fuel/air ratio vs. rpm table and increase the percentage until you have enough fuel.
Its possible as I've done it on the 92-93 LT1 computers. I've got a 9psi aftercooled T trim and I've had it on 2 bar for close to a year now. It took quite a bit of code changes to get everythign to work correctly.
I'm dyno tuning a vette this weekend with a 2 bar setup this saturday in charlotte. Is that close to statesville?
Man..you and me need to get together, we are not that far apart, I am in wilmington and we frequent the fayetteville drag strip. we have several vettes in the family and we all race.
I have a 96 that i would really like to convert over to the 2 bar map sensor on a single turbo project I am working on, and would love to pick your brain on the matter. We currently have recieved a gen VII DFI setup for my pop's car, and are going to get another setup the same for our supercharged 94 383, but my lowly little LT4 will be using the stock ECM for quite some time. shoot me an email, would like to talk a bit about it if ya have some spare time!
Alvin I have been trying to contact you at the number you gave me, but no one answers and no one returns my calls. I also tried to leave you a E-mail on your web page but still no luck. Ran out of things to try but would have liked to talk to you and pick your brain a little.
Well I am converting bruce's 93 to a 2 bar on friday. I'm making an excell spread sheet to gestimate the map #'s for the proper afr (or safe rich) when I get it all worked out I will let you know. But really you shouldn't even attempt it without a wideband. BTW everyone from what I've learned so far about Gm's prgramming masks is that this will be a relatively simple operation on a speed density system and a serious pain in the **** on my(95) car. So if you have a mass air car your far better of scaling the MAF for forced induction and using a 6btm or digitalBTM for ignition control.
Well, I have it all approximated out. We'll see what the wideband has to say about it. I need to learn how to use the TDF editor and change the units on the program.
