Default Brake Pads???

Well I think I am going to stay with the original brake equipment for now...and while doing the shock transplant- I noticed my brake pads were a little thin...what are a decent set pf pads to get for a daily driver? 94 Vert...and possibly rotors- slotted would be nice! AutoZone specials?

Auto-zone. I have had good luck with there pads. But not for the vette. The $10 pads in the full-size truck going on a year. The vette 1 month then they squeeled. I think its all in how you drive. But you do get what you pay for.

The EBC Greenstuff pads are an excellent pad for street use and some autocross and even some track days. They don't dust anywhere near as much as the Hawk HPS (also a good high performance pad) pads. I run them on my 87 autocross car and they are quiet, excellent cold bite and they don't seem to tear up rotors too bad. But then I use the cheapie rotors and just toss them when they wear out.

Performance Friction Z-rated pads are also good and you can get those from AutoZone. The EBC pads are available at the Tire Rack.

Default Best pads

At AutoZone I purchased a set of PFCs Z rated. They work with heat ( the hotter the better) have a lifetime guarantee and do not dust. Give them a try.

Performance Friction's Z-rated pads do very well, whether on the street or on the track. Not much dust either. Don't forget to flush your brake fluid.

I just installed Hawk HPS pads with my Z06 front upgrade. I got them for a great price at http://www.ltbmotorsports.com . They seem to have good bite and are quiet so far. I used synthetic lube on the pads (where they contact the calipers) to quiet them. Don't know about brake dust issues yet -- only had them on for 2 days .
