hey i just changed my front pads. got some pfc from autozone. they didnt have the z rated ones so i got the carbon metallic ones. i compressed the caliper pistons with a clamp then put the new pads on. now i have a pedal. i can drive it but it's not near as touchy as it used to be. i bled the brakes and still soft. the fluid is really hot too. i went and drove it hard and the abs would hardly come on. almost had to stop to come on. so am i just ok and got some crappier pads or what? please help me out cause i gotta race tomorrow and need this thing to stop.

Hi
You use the words "touchy" and "soft"
By "touchy" do you mean you got an instantaneous, noticeable response from your old pads at the time(moment you pressed on the pedal)?
By "soft" do you mean the pedal is not "firm" at the point where brakes are being applied?
The "touchy" could very well be the composition of the new pads vs your old pads, There are big differences! It could also be, as someone pointed out, a need to "bed the pads" Various suggested ways to do this!
If the pedal is "soft" when brakes are applied then somehow you must have gotten air in the system! Only soloution is a full system bleed till the air is gone
