Hey just would like to introuce myself. My name is James Stephens and I just moved to shreveport Louisianna. I just traded my 94 SS camaro for an 86 Corvette coupe with the 4 +3 tranny so that i could get a boat as well. I will post pics up and more personal stuff tommorrow as for a few questions I have... " and I did use the search feature "

3. My drivers side door lock doesn't work with the key but does with the electric locks if i use if from the passengers side anyone know how to get that door off and what to watch out for.
4. any advice or inputs would be appreciated.
THanks again guys and i look forward to being an active member on the forum.
Welcome to the Forum and congrats on your new '86 Vette.
I have an A4 so no idea about your 4+3.
To access the door panel remove all the perimeter screws around the lower edge, the screws around the Bose spaker, the screw in the rear door edge and the two screws in the grip area. Then pry out on the end of the door lock handle and remove it. Then lift the door panel up and inward slightly. Tilt it a little so you can remove all electrical plugs and lay the panle aside.
Then remove the screws holding the tin panel on the lower rear of the door. At this point you can access the door lock mechanism.
BTW, how do you like the Vette compared with the 4th Gen SS?
Welcome aboard. As far as your tranny, doesn't sound like the clutch (could be wrong). Since you just got the car, first thing I'd do as soon as possible is check the fluids in the rear end and tranny (as well as all the rest). Your 4+3 has auto tranny fluid in the rear portion. You need to get it up on the rack (ramps or stands) to check it, as well as the other fluids.
Well I changed the oil and cleaned the engine and noticed a few things. The Air filter box was broke and dangling halfway off so who knows how long it has been breathing unfiltered air. I taped it up and will by a new one next paycheck probably looking into a aftermarket one since i might as well get it now. Lol O I just remembered last night when i found the "Security system" feature on the car and didn't know how to shut it off lol and woke up my neighbors.
