L98 intake manifold question

Default L98 intake manifold question

I have a chance to buy a "ported" stock L98 intake manifiold. The diameter of the holes that attach to the runners on it are 1 5/8".

Does anyone know the diameter on a stock manifold? Is the casting inside the runners to teh head rough or smooth?

i wouldn't waste money on that manifold ported or not. go with accel or tpis. even though the stock manifold is ported it still would not flow like accel or tpis. your going to be doing alot of work to put this manifold on pretty much ripping the top half of your motor apart. it's not worth it for stock. just my opinoin.

I don't know the stock base port dia but they definitely rough, about like the outside.

Thanks, for the replies. For reference then, what is the diameter of the holes with the Accel? And what is stock. Plan to add a superram.

If you're doing the venerable Accel Superram, I'm assuming you have the plenum and runners, but not a manifold yet. If this is the case, or is at least your plans, go no further and get the matching Accel Superam base manifold; this way all your main intake components will be matched as a unit as per the design.
This is exactly what I'm doing.
