Default ? on heads, cam, intake, and headers

I have a 1993 LT1, auto, with 56K miles. After almost 2 years of ownership, I am finally ready to do some modding. Car runs consistent 14.0 @ 99; my goals are to get into the 12's and have around 350rwhp. The car is a daily driver and I need to pass emisions.

I plan on getting the Precision Porting Stage II heads. Along with that I will get my intake ported, polished and coated.

What cam do you guys suggest I run? Are 1.6 roller rockers a good idea?

I have been reading a lot about headers. I would love to get a set of Exotic Muscle long tubes, but I do not have the money for them. I have read that shorties are better then the stock manifolds, I have also read that the gain is minimal. If you suggest I get some, please let me know the part number and where to get them.

Thanks in advance,

Dave

It seems there are quite a few guys on the forum who have gotten good results with the LT4 Hot Cam Kit and long tube headers so that's the route I went. My 92 vette has 57k miles and was all stock before this project. I'm still waiting to see how it turns out hopefully I'll have my car back in the next two weeks! The LT4 hot cam kit comes with the 1.6 rockers (and runs $500). I went with Hooker 2151 long tube headers because again guys on the forum pointed me in that direction - I bought them from Jet Hot (coated) for $540 shipped. See my sig for other ideas - I just asked kept asking questions on the forum and think I got a decent idea of what worked well for other people we'll see what happens in a couple weeks when my baby comes out of the shop!

The only headers i see them offering are the "Chevrolet Corvette 92-95 350LT1 Hooker Super Competition 2061 1 3/4x3" "

Does anyone know if LT's are emissions legal?

would the stock cats work with these or we i need to get free flowing ones?

thanks again

this is going to turn form a $1500 project into a $3000 project

For now i plan on doing:

stage 2 heads - $999
ported, polished, coated intake - $250
cam - $250-300
roller rockers - $250
some type of headers for around $500ish
plus all the other odds and ends will be around $2500

Next year i will convert to a D44 with 3.45's

i will be doing all the work myself with the help of my father
