l have just installed a McLeod twin plate clutch, in my 1990 vett and have run into a bit of a problem, getting the car into reverse gear l can only select reverse if the engine is shut down. All the forward gear change all right but are not very smooth.
l am going to replace the master cyclinder tomorrow, and put a larger after market on, l hope to get a bit more throw in the clutch, does any one have any other points l should look at if this doesn't work,(the slave cyclinder is standard).
Also whats the best type of oil to run in the box, l have been told to fill it with half gear oil and auto trans fluid?
sounds similar in a way to my experience after a new clutch & flywheel was installed.....could shift it in reverse, but moving in reverse was a bit shaky......condition was eliminated after break-in, about 200 miles.
