Default LT1 Differences -- Harmonic Balancers

Are there any differences between the Harmonic balancer of a corvette LT1 and a Buick Roadmaster LT1? I know the pullies are different but I need to know about the hubs.

I'm asking because I blew up the vette engine and I'm replacing it with a roadmaster engine. I did a heads and cam swap on to it and I'm putting it back in. I put the vette crank pulley back on and its way off of allignment. I need to know if I just didn't tighten it down enough or the hubs are actaully a different sizes. Thanks.

Yes,
The impala and buick use a 4'' hub while the Corvette and F-body use a 3 5/16'' hub (Not positive on the 5/16 but it is somthing like that). I know because I have an extra 4'' hub that was usless and I had to get a new one for my new motor.

Yes the total leangth of the hub. They are not interchangable parts check Street aqnd performance they have the two parts listed with the size of each hub. The problem is it will change the off set of your damper/pulley

Grrrr, I guess I'm pulling the hub off and putting the vette back on. I just hope there's enough room to do it in the car. I'd really hate to have to pull the engine back out to change the hub. Thanks for the quick reply. I guess I've got my evening cut out for me now.

I am almost positive that you can do it with the motor in the car. I pulled the pully with no problems so I think the hub should come as well. If not no need to pull the motor just get a lift and remove the motor mount bolts and lift it just enough to get clearance.

Right, being as I just put it in, all the chains are hooked up still, and the tranny tail is still unbolted as well as the motor mounts to the frame. The problem is if I lift it I'm not sure I can get the puller in there. The angle will be hitting the crossmember. I guess I'll just have to loosen it as much as possible and then do it the old fashioned way
