Well this is a stupid question, but here goes... I have never had a vert in a C4, as they were all coupes and my problem is as follows. The factory Bose has been replaced with after amrket and the rear speakers have been replaced and I am not sure where the factory speakers should be and also have never seen any Bose speaker covers for the rear. I hope one of you vert guys and answer my question and also if the wiring has been hacked up, how hard is it to get at?? Thanks and I hope this is the last stupid one.
Also is it easy to replace the power antenna as mine got broken off on the way back home when a piece of a semi tire bounced off the car and took it out. Didn't do a lot of good to the hood either !!
I have a 92 vert and to get at the rear speakers, just pop the rear deck and hold the rear of the top up with a bungie cord. I think it's 6 screws that hold the speaker covers on. If you have an aftermarket rig, they probably had to do some major wiring. Most guys hate the Bose, but mine works just great after I had the amps repaired.

In the rdstrs, the speakers are in what would be the storage compartments in a coupe, one right and one left, just behind the "bulwark" behind the front seats.
There should be or should have been two black speaker grilles instead of storage compartment covers.

Where are your speakers?

The speakers are in the rear of the top-stowage area. The storage compartments are the same as a coupe.
Thanks guys, that is what I thought, mine were replaced by aftermarket and the standard grills are gone. I don't know if the wiring has been butchered or not yet. What is the easy way to get at them and the wiring as the car is in getting some paint work done, so I can't look at it. Also are the factory grills still available ?? Also is it hard to replace the power antenna ??? I need a new one, got brokenj on the way home.

Yes, the factory grills are still available, Ecklers or MAD or others
The antennae can be a real PITA
There have been numerous posts here, try the tech search section or get a Helms manual.
Well, the wiring is a lot different for the stock speakers so you can be sure if the speakers are after-market the wiring has been changed.
As for the power ant., before you buy an complete unit determine if the mast is broken or if its just the internal plastic cord. If your mast is ok save yourself a ton of money and just replace the guts.
Good Luck, and congratulations on your rdstr. I had an 89 now I'm in an 94. Never had a coupe yet.

It can be- but I did like my manual said and removed the rear inner fender well....jacked up the rear a little...and got right at it! Took all of about 15 minutes to replace!
