Code 43????

Im getting a code 43 when I checked it. Not sure what the definition of this means. Can someone give me a hand on what it may be?

Code 43... knock sensor... could be a number of things, wiring to/from the knock sensor, faulty knock sensor, fault ESC module.... do a search for this. You do have a Haynes or Helms manual right?

I hear the quick cure for code 43 is new knock sensor.

I just repaired this on my '92 Vert. I cleaned the connectors on both knock sensors and bent the center connector a little so it would make better contact. No more 43's.

I had a code 43 on my car for some time. I found it to be two broken wires in the harness running from the esc. THE ESC IS LOCATED NEAR THE HEATER MOTOR UNDER THE HOOD. Another thing to check is the brown whire in this harness which is a ground. Make sure that there is a good ground to this wire. I ran a new one to the hood hinge above this wire. Hope this helps!
