There is a block on ebay (Item number: 7925772441) I am thinking about biding on the only thing is they say it has
"THERMALLY CLEANED AND SHOT PEENED, MAGNUFLUXED, BORED AND TORQUE PLATE HONED TO .030, AND THE DECKS OF THE BLOCK HAVE BEEN MILLED. THIS BLOCK IS TRULY READY FOR SOMEONE TO BEGIN ASSEMBLY"
do you guys think this is by looking at the pics. I would not know how to tell.
If I do end up getting this block what should be done before assembly.
I would think you could get a block near you and have those things done for less then what they want, plus shipping. Also The guy doing my engine will not bore it unless he has the cam and crank to do the bore. I have no idea how those guys do there bores, so I would be careful. just my thoughts,
I think you might have trouble finding someone that will assemble w/out doing half the work over to make sure it's right. I don't think builders like taking anyone elses word for it.

Why do al this work to a block the sell it?I've had a couple of mills rebuilt and never had a block machined and threw it in my garage. And honestly no engine builder worth his/her salt is going to work off a block they hav'nt machined themself.you might as well go to the local bone yard and find a block if you buy it off someone you dont know.it will be cheaper anyway if the ebay block is cracked
