I am having a problem with my 88. The car is seems to vibrate a little in the front when I reach speeds of 58+. There are 2 factors that I are relatively new that I percieve as possible causes. (f course I am not real informed on this stuff)
1. I just installed two new Fusion Tire on front, replacing the stock Goodyear tires, that match Firestone firehawks on the rear. (Hawks were discontinued) Bad tire possible?
2. Just before I replaced the tires, my wife dropped the wheel off a shoulder and the car almost bottomed out. I am thinking the front end my have been jarred out of alignment. Could this cause the vibration?
Any other ideas? I am probably going to take the car to alighnment shop today and have it checked.
Tires were installed after my wife dropped off the shoulder, so they are not damaged. They were also just computer balanced, so unless they were somehow faulty from the factory, it seems like it would have to be something else. (like alignment) I just don't remember noticing this prior to installing the tires, but I may not have driven it at highway speed during that time. I am going to the alignment shop today to have the whole thing checked out. Thanks for the input
usually you want to get all 4 tires at the same time! so the car isnt too offset.
now since a vette is already offset you are just doing it more!
its prob alignment
if not
check the motor mounts!!!

I have a similar problem(s) on my 88
Slight vibration at around 58 mph
I have found it to be the shocks. Strange as that may seem!
When I first bought the car five years ago it had the vibration, but I bought it anyway. I replaced the shocks as just part of my desire to get it right and the vibration went away
Last summer it came back, so I replaced the shocks again (long story on why I go through shocks every 25000 miles, don't ask)
Vibration gone again!
This winter I will probably go through the entire front end, including wheel bearings (which also can cause the vibration)
