I've got two shiney new O2 sensors staring me in the face, but everytime I peer under the hood of my '95 I get cold feet about the prospect of installing them.
I know about the availability of special oxygen sensor socket, but I don't see a way to get a socket and ratchet on either sensor.
Someone in another thread mentioned that a Craftsman 7/8" stubby wrench made the job easy, but looking from above with the hood open I have doubts about that one too.
What the heck are you guys using to get these things out?
Mine are factory originals, been there ten yrs, probably going to be a bear to get broken loose. Main concern is how to get leverage in the small space arround the sensors.
yes use that and make sure u use a cheater pipe! and also liquid plumber! it will dissolve whatever is holding it in there tight!
once u pop it loose, u can get it by hand. make sure u unplug the 02 sensor.
I just did mine too awhile back. the 7/8 works well on the left side. I used the O2 wrench on the right side from the top with the help of a couple of long 3/8 extensions. That lenght gives a lot of torque to bust it loose. Not a bad job at all.
