Modine part number, 2228, fits 1990-1996, all. Part number consolidation has radiators with trans coolers (autos) shipping for both.

RACE ON!!!

Well, that's good to hear. One of our wonderful members here is cutting me a deal on a good one from a 96 auto.I just don't have faith in my "patched" surge tank return line
I know it will eventually leak and it might bein a less than desireable location. This time it happened in the garage.

Time to take her apart and work on a custom Ram-air and IAT mod.

Re/ that IAT mod, rather than just extend the wires, either get a new plug with leads or go to the junk yard, many GM cars of the era use the same plug. Get as much wire with it as you can so you can lengthen as needed. A foot more should be plenty. This way you'll only have one splice per wire, instead of two if you just lengthen your existing plug leads. I'm fussy about minimizing splices. Grab the IAT from the junker too, to plug your old hole with. Other than that, all you'll need is a grommet.

Sounds good man....I was actually lookin at her and noticed where the IAT is placed Who's bright idea was that??Why not just put it on top of the header....

I'm a little more concerned with what to do with the lengthened wires...as fas as securing them...

I covered mine with new plastic loom, just like stock, and tie-wrapped to the A/C hose. My IAT is located a couple of inches ahead of the accordian, on the right side of the air box. Very neat installation, looks factory, which as you said, it should have been! I've thought of running a dummy lead to the sensor plugging the old hole, just to mess with people!

Like I said before, this is my first vette.I am lookin at that air box assembly and where it pulls air in. Looks like another brilliant idea.Where in the world would they figure adequate air flow would come from?? Just about as bright as putting a Conical K&N in a engine compartment ...I love seeing that.....

I asked this question to Gordon Killebrew a few months ago (he came to a class our local club was sponsoring, great time had by all!), he indicated, that because the IAT was mounted to plastic, it really didn't matter if you moved it.

The plastic will not attract the heat like metal will. If you had a ZR1, then yes, move it, but on the LT1, it's really about as cool as it's gonna get. With air moving over it, the air has not had a chance to get "warm" yet.

Something to think about.

you would be better off doing the Throttle Body coolant bypass at the same time, that is worth something.

Well I'd never dispute Gordon, okay MAYBE I would, but the reasoning I've heard is a more stable signal, rather than just air temp. Hell, I'm no expert, I just read what they say! They are though, generally locating them further forward on newer cars. What the hell, like most of the other freebies, it can't hurt. I still ran an airfoil until I changed to an aftermarket TB!
