Default vortech upper hose question

For those of you with the Vortech supercharger on your LT1, with the ATI intercooler, how did you make the upper hose/pipe fit? The problem I am having is, since I had to reindex (turn) the outlet of the blower up to meet the intercooler hose, the upper radiator hose (shiny pipe) won't sit low enough to connect to the thermostat housing. On another note, how many of you have a custom intake? I understand the factory one is very restrictive. I purchased some 3.5" flexible tubing (which is almost perfectly smooth on the inside) to use as the intake, but things are very tight up front there, and I can't get it to make the bend onto the blower inlet. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm confused on what the problem is.

I have an Vortech blower connected to ATI Intercooler. I left the outlet of the blower as is and used the 90 deg. curved pipe first to bring the outlet onto the top rad. shroud. Used the ATI straight round hard pipe next to bring to IC, finally round rubber hose connects the hard pipe. Outlet uses two oval 45 deg curves and oval hard pipe to make a S-type curve to connect I/C outlet to the throttle body.

Is your setup different then above? I also have a '94 LT1.

Is your's an S-trim? The setup sounds the same. I have had several people tell me the outlet on the ATI procharger sits higher up than on the Vortech. When I put on the Vortech, the Vortech tubing would line up (for non-intercooled setup), but the hose for the ATI intercooler was way too high. I had to loosen the allen bolts and rotate the outlet housing upward a good bit, couple inches I guess. Maybe somebody already did this on yours, did you get it new or used? Unless your black hose connecting to the blower outlet is different than mine. Anyway, the upper coolant pipe won't sit low enough now with the blower outlet there.

When I had the ATI intercooler on mine I believe all I did was add an extra length of silicone hose that I had laying around. But aside form that it fit "ok"...

Not sure on the intercooler stuff, I bought a gasous intercooler setup for my vortech.

As far as the intake goes, I've heard the problem is more with the swirling effect that happens in front of the impeller. Carroll Supercharging will add a baffle to the vortech intake tube to reduce that from happening. They say it's worth 1-2 PSI, not bad for $100 or so...

I think the intake tube will get sent off after I'm done with the injection install and setup. I can't say enough about the quality of products Greg has. Truely first class.
