[LT1] IAC reset necessary after battery pull?

Should you run through the Idle Air Control valve reset procedure after hooking battery power back up after having the negative cable disconnected?

I'm by far no electronic guru, but I had to last time I had battery power unhooked to get my correct idle speed back.

Don't know why you would have to if you didn't mess with the IAC. I've never had to and I've had my battery disconnected many times.

The way the manual says to reset the IAC is to just drive the car at 35-45 MPH... and the ECM will reset it automatically... why not just do that?
