i installed a holley adjustable reg i don't no if i put it in wrong i doubt it but when i turn my key in the run position i only get 20 psi then it falls to zero. with my old adjustable reg with key on it went to 40 psi and stayed there. what did i do wrong???
i forgot to mention that i didn't start the car i'm waiting for my smog pump eliminator. could the problem be because the fuel system isn't primed with fuel?? now that i'm thinking about it this happened when i installed the first one but i forget. can this be the cause??
I am not sure but when I turn the key, it primes it to 38 psi then it drops down to 30 in about 10 seconds then over the course of 2 mins it creeps down to 20 psi. This is all with the engine off. I have not adjusted the pressure at all. Just left it the way it came from the factory. This is the AFPR off the Holley Stealthram tho.

Try applying 12 volts to terminal "G" on the aldl. The pump should run till you pull the power out. While it's running, turn the dial on your reg till you reach 40-45 lbs. Pull the wire and then watch your fuel pressure gauge.
Here is my story ....and I am sticking to it! I put in a Holley AFPR about a month ago and the darn car would not start. It ran fine with the ole Accel unit. I thought about this while I had a "cold one" and then checked the fuel pressure. It was less than 20 pounds . I then realized that the AFPR adjusting wheel was all the way out. I turned the wheel in (to about 40 PSI) and the engine came to life! Screw the wheel clockwise about one turn and check the fuel pressure to get at least 30 pounds. I think you will hear some noise .
does the vacuum fitting on that screw in to the housing?if so it may be screwed in far enough to interfere with the pressure diaphram.i heard of someone else having a problem like that but i dont remember what brand he was useing.
