So I just put another radiator in the 92.The original one had a leak form on the small nipple return line.
Anyways, I have always had a random SES light come on after awhile running.Naturally after the radiator and fluid change I was watching the temp gauge carefully and lookin for leak and whatnot.I never turned the air on.What sounds like one fan would come on right at 195-196 Hmm..not really a problem but odd. Then a couple seconds later the SES light would come on.I did this several times.Everytime it hits 195-196 the fan would come on and bam a couple seconds later the SES!!......Turn the car off for a few...crank her back up and no fan till again 195-196 and 2 seconds later the SES pops on.
Awe carp, I have no idea.I just figured out what it's doin. When you first crank her up No Light. It takes awhile to hit 195...then the light comes right on.I remember driving her one night a couple weeks ago and it was very cool out.I still had the air on so both fans were on.The SES didn't come on for a loooooooong. Now I know why it took so long.
Seems someone switched something out and now the fans come on earlier???The it trips the SES cause they are on too early?>..
To check your codes, jumper the top right and bottom left pins on the ALDL connector. It will begin by showing codes. It'll say 1, display those codes (with either a C for current or H for history), 4, display those, and finally 7. Let us know which codes it trips.
If you need a more detailed explanation on how to get the codes, its in this thread:
Ok, so it seems that a C12 means no codes stored in the CCM.
I can't get the 4.0 and the 9.0 to clear.
AND for the biggest question....the fan comes on after a few seconds of starting.........Temp was about 165ish when it came on..
Ok, well gee.......don't have one of those either.
"Either"?...as opposed to what? The italicized, underlined, HELMS, is a link to the site from which you can order the factory service manual. You NEED it!

CFI-EFI has problems expressing himself without hurting others, don't take it personally. ; )
Were you able to cycle through the modules after it finished displaying the codes? Clearing them after the fact should actually clear them. If you do that, turn the car off for a few seconds, and turn it back on and their still there, your car is retripping the codes.
I have a manual, I'm going to find the codes... Gimme a second.
Thx man, I thought I reset them but they keep showing up as a 4..H26 ..9..H83.... I had 7 codes but now just two..but now the darn fan keeps comin on.Hmm
