My '95 coupe with about 60k on her just completed the trifecta - heater core failure, radiator failure and water pump failure - all at once! I had the heater core replaced professionally. I tried this job on another car years ago and also read about the difficulty of replacing the heater core on this forum. Well spent 500 bucks. Anyway, they noted that the water pump has a wet weep hole and now my radiator is actually dripping. I am going to replace the radiator myself (then the water pump soon) as funds are somewhat limited at this point in time. I was wondering if there is anything I should replace other than the radiator hoses while I have the radiator out. Also any tips or tricks that may help me out with this task would be appreciated.
When you change the water pump, drain the coolant fromt the block as coolant will still be in the heads and drain all over the optispark (which you probally don't want to replace either) if you just drain the radiator (unless you maybe pull the lower radiator hose).
