I just got a cooling fan temperature control from Summit. it is a reostat with a sensor that can be attached to your raditor and connected to your fans (I have an '85 with 2 fans) and you can set the temp you want your fans to come on. It has a 15 degree variable which means if it comes on at 200 it will shut off at 185.
Has anyone else tried this? I am installing it tonight and will let everyone know if it works.

Adjustable Cooling fan control
I have a 87 c4 and I had an 84 before that had the adjustable Cooling Fan control and I'm about to have one installed in this one also. These thermometer like devices seem to provide the most consistent and reliable way to control the temperature in these cars that heat up so fast especially in stop and go traffic. I only have a single fan in my car. Does having the double fan help your car cool down faster? I really just wanted to cast another vote in favor of using these devices to help keep your c4 temperature manageable.

GM thought 2 was better. One big thing to remember, keep radiator clean. And ensure your front plastic spoiler is intact, as our cars are bottom feeders...
And 220 to 235 is normal operating temps on these cars, thats why some L98 and older have oil coolers too.
LT1 went with synthetic Mobil 1 as it can take more heat.
And, in programming, you can make the fans come on and off when needed. Never keep the fan on all the time, as it should shut off at 30 to 35mph to ensure it doesnt stop air from coming into radiator. Physics.
